2003 Summer Update

The Nassau Kings have changed their set-up from a Summer League
with an entrance fee at The Island Garden to a FREE Open Gym at Nassau
Community College.  Read below for details.

NY Knicks - No gym available during the Summer.  For more information,
contact David Snowden, Jr. at 212 465-4428

Bulova Renegades - Open gym will continue to run on Wednesday's from 6:00pm 
- 9:00pm at the West Bronx Recreation Center (5 minutes from the GW Bridge).
Open gym on Sunday's at Roberto Clemente State Park, will be determined in
the next few weeks.

Nassau Kings - Open gym will be on Wednesday's from 7:00pm - 10:00pm from
July 9th through August 13th at Nassau County Community College in
Uniondale, NY. For more information, contact Joe Slalinka 516-621-5531.

EPVA Nets - No gym available during the Summer.

LI Express - Open gym will continue to run on Saturday's from 9:30am -
2:00pm at The Nassau University Medical Center gym until the beginning of
August. Interested players should contact Bobby Cugini: cugicu@webtv.net
on a weekly basis to confirm availability, as it changes from week to week.                   The gym availability is usually confirmed on the Wednesday prior to the Saturday.

EWBC Update: 01/04/02

EWBC 2001 - 2002 SCHEDULE

All  Conference games will be held on the following:

November 17 - 19    Northport VA

December   1 -   2    Island Garden Arena

January     05 - 06    Island Garden Arena

January     26 - 27    Championship Weekend
                             Island Garden Arena

Each team is required to have 3 personnel to assist in the games, with scorekeeping, and with running the clocks (both the game clock and the 35-second shot clock).

All rosters are due by September 15, please send them to the Commissioner.

You MUST use the official NWBA form, which can be downloaded from the NWBA WEBSITE:  NWBA.org

Only the conference games will be counted in your conference standings. If conference teams meet at other tournaments outside of those listed above, those games will only count toward your national standings - NOT within the conference.


The format for the November 17 - 18 conference weekend to be held at Northport VA will be determined by the host team (LIE).

EWBC Update: April 30, 2001

National Wheelchair Basketball Association

BY-LAW REVISIONS

The delegate body in Chicago passed the following bylaws rules and regulations.  The proposed changes, which were either defeated or withdrawn, will not be included, in the interest of time and space; only a summary of the rule change is listed.

It is strongly recommended that each team rep; make these changes known to the players.

The fact that some don’t know of the changes will not affect them being upheld.

EC 1 – PASSED with amendments - Qualification for Post Season Playoffs.

Teams must submit a team photo (see bylaws for specifics) along with their application and fee for post-season play.  Failure to submit required documentation may result in a $500.00 fine and teams may not be allowed to participate in post season.

EC 4 – PASSED - Housekeeping only

Corrects reference to other bylaw.

EC 5 – PASSED - General Committees

Rules and Officials Committees have been combined. The Chair of this committee will be the Supervisor of Officials.  

EC 6 – PASSED- Housekeeping only.

Supervisor of Officials duties will be moved from Regulations 8 Section 5 to Article 6 Section 1 (e).

TC – 5 DIVISION 1 MEMBERSHIP

PASSED with Amendments. [Originally DEFEATED brought back to the floor]

 

  1. D1 teams may ship-in up to 6 points, outside their geographical area.
  2. D2 Final Four teams do not have to move up to D1.
  3. Players can play for they’re nearest D1 team without being counted as part of the 6 points.
  4. Rosters for D1 must be submitted by Sept. 30th.
  5. Players may be added to a D1 roster until Dec 31st.
  6. No player may be eliminated from a D1 roster after the Sept. 30th deadline.
  7. No same season transfers will be allowed in D1 among D1 teams.
  8. A player may transfer from a D2 or D3 team to D1 if done by Dec. 31st.
  9. D1 rosters are limited to 12 players regardless of age or experience.
  10. If a player quits or has a season ending injury, a replacement player may be added to the D1 roster IF done by Dec. 31.

TC – 9– PASSED - Post Season Competition

REMOVES the Sectional level of Post Season Tournament Play.

Changes the fee to $150.

Requires teams to play no less than 10 games against other D2 teams.

Changes qualifying dates to Oct. 31, thru 2nd or 3rd weekend in March, TBD by the TSC.

Changes the pairing and bracketing of teams in the Regional Tournaments to single elimination with a consolation bracket.

TC – 10 – PASSED - Conduct of regional Tournaments

Changes officials fee for regional Tournaments to $50.00 per official per game.

Due to the number of teams making application for entry, only REGIONAL Tournament will be played prior to the Final Four.
